Story of Mum group launches in Milton Keynes
Exciting news - Story of Mum is coming to a town near you! Or maybe a bit nearer to you than Penzance... On 21 March, we're launching our regular Story of Mum get-together at the Milton Keynes Gallery.
Our Penzance mums group has been going for a few months now and it's always a really lovely evening of mums getting together, chatting, making stuff, and eating chocolate. We've even popped up at mums' groups elsewhere in recent weeks, like St*tch n Bi*ch in Flushing, who recently had a go at baking a pie chart.
If Milton Keynes is as far away from you as Penzance, there's still hope. Do you or could you ever get together with a group of mums, nans or great-grans? If so, do get in touch and we can help you set up your own Story of Mum group. Or just get on with it and have a go at any of the activities on the site together, then upload your pictures - we'd love to see them.
In the meantime, here's our official press release about the Milton Keynes group, with more info - hope to see you there!
StoryofMum.com, a unique website for mums, is launching a new meeting space for Milton Keynes mums, nans and great-grans. The Milton Keynes Story of Mum Group will offer mums a chance to get together and get creative without their kids for a change. Carving out some child-free time for mums to take part in art and craft activities and connect with other mums worldwide.
Devised and set up a mother and daughter team, Penny and Pippa Best StoryofMum.com is aimed at mums from all generations and all walks of life.
Co-founder Penny Best says “We’re so excited to be able to share StoryofMum.com now with Milton Keynes mums and grans, and very grateful to MK Gallery for their support in hosting the event. Motherhood (and even grand-motherhood) can bring challenging transitions and limit time for yourself. We want mums to be inspired to become part of a growing online community sharing what it is to be a mum today, the good and the not so good bits.”
StoryofMum.com creates space for mums, nans and great-grans to tell their stories, take photos, draw pictures, record themselves and most importantly, celebrate the joys and challenges of being a mum. Mums from all over the UK, America, Australia, Europe and Asia already take part individually online with each new monthly activity. The Milton Keynes group will be the second Story of Mum face-to face group to launch in the UK – the first meets regularly in the Exchange Gallery, Penzance.
The first MK Group will meet on Wednesday evening, 21 March from 7– 8.30 pm at MK Gallery. You can find out more by contacting Victoria Mayes, Informal Learning Manager at MK Gallery on 01908 558327, or emailing us.
We look forward to seeing you there!
